Tjörns Golf Club is a picturesque 18-hole golf course near Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden.
Situated on the stunning island of Tjörn - just a 40 minute drive north of Gothenburg - the course is the biggest in the Bohuslän region and offers players an enjoyable experience in beautiful surroundings of forest, countryside and panoramic sea views.

A course for everyone
Maintained to a high standard, Tjörns Golf Club offers a good challenge for players of all ages and abilities. A range of tee systems allows you to tailor the experience to all of your group. The top men’s course has a rating of 69 and slope rating of 124, while the top women’s course is rated 74 and a slope rating of 130.
You’ll enjoy the mixture of landscapes and views - with lakes, forest, rock features typical of Sweden’s west coast, as well as beautiful views expanding out to the nearby ocean.
Before or after your round you can take advantage of the club’s driving range facilities and pro shop. Golfclubs and golfcarts are available for hire, please prebook when booking teetime. The clubhouse is set among the greenery of the local Swedish countryside. The course is open all year-round, provided playing conditions are suitable.
Tjörns Golf Club restaurant
The restaurant at Tjörns Golf Club is well-known in the region - drawing in guests from outside the golf community every day. Open every day between 8am and 5pm during high season the restaurant offers high quality meals and a range of ‘lunch of the day’ options each day. (Lunch available 11am-4pm) The restaurant and catering services can also be booked for larger groups or conferences.
Tjörn - A complete holiday destination
Tjörn offers a range of holiday activities for travellers of all ages and everything is easily accessible around the island, which can be driven across in around 25 minutes.
Close to Gothenburg and the city’s international Landvetter Airport, and just a 10 minute drive from the main E6 highway, makes Tjörn an easy destination to visit for both local and international tourists.
On the island, Tjörn offers marine activities such as sailing, kayaking and boat tours, as well as fishing and many stunning swimming beaches around the island’s shores.
Old fishing villages, nature walks, art museums, world-renowned outdoor art installations at Pilane, top quality spa retreats, highly-rated seafood restaurants, a plethora of Swedish wildlife and of course great golfing - the island has something for everyone.
Accommodation on Tjörn
If you’re planning to stay in the Tjörn area there is accommodation both on the island and in nearby Stenungsund.
Several hotels in the island’s largest village, Skärhamn, are available, including the unique “floating hotel” of Salt & Sill. On the mainland side of the island Stenungsbaden is a high-quality hotel and spa resort. Most of the hotels in the area offer conference facilities for travelling business groups.
In addition there are further hotels in Stenungsund, and Airbnb properties are in good supply all around the island, with many “sommarstugor” (summer houses) located on Tjörn. (Availability in peak summer will be limited)
For those traveling by caravan or campervan there is space on site at the golf club to stay for a fee of 300 Swedish kronor per night. Powered sites are available, along with toilet, shower and tourist information. Enquiries can be made to the Golf Club reception.

Directions:
Take the E6 north from Gothenburg for 25-30 minutes and take exit 90 at Stora Höga and follow route 160 towards Tjörn, Stenungsund and Orust over the Tjörn bridge. Once you are on Tjörn turn left onto route 169 at the traffic lights (towards Rönnäng) and follow the 169 for about 9 kilometres. You will see the signs for Tjörns Golfklubb on the right and follow those to the course car park (approximately one minute).
